Description
- Taste Profile: Known for being sweet and savory even when unripe. Unlike most mangoes that are sour when green, the Falan is "lemak" (rich/creamy) and sweet with a mild, nutty aroma.
- Texture: The flesh is exceptionally crisp and crunchy when green, becoming softer and golden-yellow as it matures. It is largely fiberless.
- Appearance: It has an elongated, slender shape with a dark green skin that often remains green even when the fruit is fully ripe and sweet.
- Why the name "Thunderbolt"?: In Thailand, it is called Falan (thunderbolt) because the skin is so crisp that it is said to crack or "thunder" when sliced.
